Weather

We are certainly becoming obsessed with the weather at the moment. Heavy rain storms Friday and we had numerous power outages. Bad weather continued over the weekend - a low hit without any wind, so it just dumped rain on already wet land. One example, Sheffield normally gets 60mm of rain in June, yesterday along it had over 240mm in one day! People had to be rescued by air/sea rescue in the centre of Sheffield. Here we have heavy clay soil, so i have i growing puddle in the back garden. Shortly we will be legally obliged to mark the deep and shallow ends of the puddle!

When I called home on Sunday my mum said there'd been a heavy storm the night before. Doubtless the papers are all screaming "global warming"!

They haven't started screaming global warming yet - too obsessed with quoting things like "heaviest rainfall since records began"...but its only a matter of time before the climate change folks come out of the dark corners!

A Damn is about to burst..http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/south_yorkshire/6239782.stm

It's really bizarre as today is a nice dry clear day. The rest of the week the wet stuff comes back!
